👀 About the role

We’re seeking a highly skilled & hands-on Backend Engineer. This is a unique opportunity to join Tengo in the early team and make a significant impact on both the product and the technical stack. You will work closely with our CTO Yoann.

To date, our technical challenges encompass :

1. Collecting, structuring & enriching open web data from hundreds of sources
2. Use LLM & RAG pipelines to analyse tender speciations (aka dozens of long PDF docs per tender)
3. Building a SaaS app that enable our customers to find tenders that match their business needs
4. Creating features to assist those suppliers in responding to the tender

As Backend Engineer, you will:

1. Feed data to the Tengo product to bring value to users dealing with public tenders daily. For example, typical tasks are :
   1. Scraping data and deduplicating it
   2. Extract & structure content from PDF files, index it in databases
   3. Write prompts for LLMs, build tooling & dataset to evaluate performances
2. Collaborate with the tech & product team to ship quality software, fast : write and challenge specs, technical design, peer coding, reviews, …
3. Participate in the daily life of an early stage startup that is focused on one thing: building an ambitious product
